One of the things that I’ve learned over the past year as I’ve been doing a lot more gardening is that the things you grow are only as good as the soil they’re growing in.

When we think of our training, we often simply think of it as a task or a bunch of things we have to do. We’re stuck in this understanding of our training as just doing a bunch of exercises. We don’t see our training as a part of cultivating an environment for the outcomes we want.
