Over the years I’ve worked with many people who enjoy practicing Yoga… Including my wife. One of the things often missing from Yoga practice is the incorporation of Strength Training.

I think a lot of people who practice Yoga are under the impression that you will get everything you need from your practice alone. Unfortunately within most practices this is just not true.

Strength Training is designed to adapt tissue. We know that stretching is just one type of tissue input. It has it’s place for sure and is a critical component of an overall practice. Stretching provides a type of force to tissue at length. But often times we don’t spend any time learning to contract that tissue at length.
