Why Do We Need Range of Motion & Control?
Ideas from High School Physics that we should consider with regards to our Exercise, Performance and Training.
High School Physics told ALL OF US that “Energy is neither created nor destroyed”, but for some reason we think that that we can place high energy demands that exceed the range of motion and capacity of our joint tissues regularly, and still be all good over time.
So what happens to energy that is not dissipated well?
In order to dissipate forces well, we need access to tissues that can do that job and we need to be able to use that tissue effectively. In other words, our joints need access to ranges of motion and then control and strength throughout those ranges.
But what does that mean?
