Rotation is the fundamental movement of your Hip joint. There’s a lot of talk about all the linear motions of the hip joint, and often times you’ll see Instagram influencers focused on the superficial muscle actions of the Hip when it comes to what we might be experiencing with our Hips.

One example is the notion that most people have that if they have a pinching sensation at the front of the Hip when doing a Hip Flexion motion, that It must be because you lack External Rotation of the Hip.

You’ll have someone say you need to stretch your Hip more in External Rotation positions similar to Pigeon Pose. You’ll have others say you need to do more Hip Flexor stretches.
